Home About Lucy Biography
Lucy Lawless, best known to most people as Xena from the hit TV-series "Xena: Warrior Princess", was born in Mt. Albert, Auckland, New Zealand on the 29th of March, 1968. Her birth name is Lucille Francis Ryan. Lucy attended the Auckland University, and studied opera and playing violin. In 1991 she attended the William Davis Center for Actors in Vancouver, Canada. Lucy now lives in both Los Angeles and New Zealand, as she has a house in both locations. Lucy has three kids, a daughter from her previous marriage with Garth Lawless, and two sons from her current marriage with Rob Tapert (who was the executive producer for "Xena: Warrior Princess"). Lucy's recent works include a recurring guest role in the new hit science fiction series "Battlestar Galactica" as reporter D'anna Biers, as well as lead role in TV movies "Locusts" and "Vampire Bats". Most recently she starred in a documentary called "Five Days in Bangladesh", a grim journey to witness the horrible conditions of homeless and poor Bangladesian people. Lucy also does active charity work, including supporting breast cancer research, prevention of child abuse etc., and is a board member of the Starship Hospital Foundation. |
